Kids Ministry

Welcome to Central Kids

At Central Kids, your children—from birth through 6th grade—will discover God’s love in a fun, safe, and age-appropriate environment. Our caring volunteers are trained and background-checked to ensure your child’s safety while helping them grow in their faith. Through engaging Bible lessons, music, and activities, we partner with parents to help kids follow Jesus and live out their faith every day.

Our Theology of Children's Ministry

At Tulsa Central, our goal is to come alongside parents as partners supporting and equipping them to raise their children in a Christ-centered life. We believe our calling is to care for each child the way Jesus teaches us: by making sure they know they are deeply loved, taking the time to know each child personally, and leading them to God's best ways. We find great importance in making sure that each child is able to navigate life with Jesus, and as they mature they are able to take on serving roles as their relationship with Christ grows in their hearts.

What to Expect in Central Kids

From the moment you arrive, our team will help you check in, find your child’s classroom, and make sure they feel right at home. Every class is safe, age-appropriate, and designed to help kids learn about God in fun and engaging ways.

Sunday Mornings

Sunday small groups are available from 9:30-10:30 for Preschool - 5th grade on Sunday mornings. This is a great time to be able to learn about biblical stories in addition to service time lessons. This is also a great space for the students to be able to be mentored by wonderful background checked volunteers who give their time to being there to learn about God together.

During service time - 10:30-11:45:

Birth - Kindergarten get to learn and experience the love of Jesus in their age appropriate environments to foster a space for questions and play with these stories given to us from the Bible.

Elementary (1st-5th grade) go through different series throughout the year that are specially crafted by Pastor Amber in order to critically think about how the Bible applies to their life. Jesus calls us not to blindly follow what other people tell us but to faithfully and whole heartedly give our lives to Him because we know His way is best. This necessitates critical thinking to decipher how Jesus would respond to situations and practice listening to the Holy Spirit to hear what God is telling us. We also work on holding God's words in our hearts through memorization and repetition of key verses and theological beliefs.

Wednesday Nights

Wednesday Nights are a time where kids from Preschool - 5th grade can come and dive deeper into who we are as Christians. We focus on looking at who God tells us we are and how God shows us who He is through the Bible and through other people.

Our typical schedule is broken up into 3 different themes:

Why Do We Believe What We Believe?: this involves fun activities and lessons teaching about different times in our history that we seen good examples of people living in Jesus' ways.

Church Field Trip: every second Wednesday of the month we will go on a field trip inside the church to learn about the different parts of our church and why they are important. Sometimes as we grow up in the church or are new to the church, there are things that we do that can be confusing and in Central Kids we want to help understand as much as possible!

Missions Nights: every 4th Wednesday of the month we will get on a "plane" and travel to a new part of the world and learn about what God is doing there. As Nazarenes, an international denomination, we are doing work all over the world and it is important that we can learn about all of the beautiful things God is doing in those places. Students will get to do a craft/game and have the opportunity to try a food from that country as a part of that.
